Teaching and learning ideas
• What is discrimination? Have you been discriminated against or witnessed discrimination?
• Students to view ‘The Invisible Discriminator’ TV Commercial – discussion based around student reactions. How is discrimination represented in the commercial? Categorise the types of discrimination.
• Students divide into groups and compile a list of adjectives to describe the feelings of the discriminated. Possible extension into creative writing/prose in relation to ‘how’ the person felt. What would you do if you were observing these types of discrimination? Role Play such an intervention.
